obl: oblique

The obl relation is used for a nominal (noun, pronoun, noun phrase) functioning as a non-core (oblique) argument or adjunct to a verb, adverb, adjective or verbal noun. If the nominal is modifying a noun, proper noun, pronoun or symbol then use nmod instead.

In the Scottish Gaelic treebank the obl relation is almost always marked with an adposition connected to it with the case relation.

(Up to release 2.15) The subtypes obl:smod and obl:tmod are for expressions of space and time respectively which are not marked with an adposition.

(Release 2.16) The subtype obl:unmarked is used for where there is no adposition and the noun is in the nominative case.
