Definition
Determiners are words that modify nouns or noun phrases and express the reference of the noun phrase in context. That is, a determiner may indicate whether the noun is referring to a definite or indefinite element of a class. In Beja, the article determiners are marked by a clitic,mostly nominal but also adjectival on nouns and adjectives. They are preposed to the noun for the definite article, postposed for the indefinite article. Demonstrative determiners are independent words, either preposed or postposed to the noun, and they can co-occur with the article.
