Tatar has a complex tense/aspect/modality system.
Tatar verbs can indicate actions in the present, past or future.
Past
: past tense
Turkish past tense is realized with -ды/де/ты/те. In a nominal/adjectival predicate sentence, the past tense is indicated by an auxiliary иде.
Examples
- өйгә барды “he/she went home”
- Ул бала иде “he/she was a child”
- Ул кечкенә иде “he/she was small”
Fut
: future tense
Tatar future tense is expressed with suffix -ачак/әчәк, -ыр/ер, -асы/әсе, which are all participles VerbForm=Part
.

Pres
: present tense
The present tense in Turkish is realized by lack of past or future morphemes.
