In Naija, Tense is a feature of auxiliaries and verbs which specifies the time when the action took / takes / will take place, in relation to another process or the utterance itself.

There are three values for this feature :

Past: past

The past tense is ued to indicate that the process is situated in the past in relation to another process or the utterance itself.

Pres: present

The present tense is used to situate the process in present time.

Prosp: prospective

The prospective tense is used to indicate that the process has not yet taken place. It is situated in the future in relation to another process or the utterance itself.
