Definition
Adjectives are words that typically modify nouns and specify their properties or attributes. They may also function as predicates, as in
- кызыл машина “(the) red car”
- Машина кызыл “(the) car is red.”
Tatar adjectives have an inflected form for a comparative Degree, but not for a superlative,
which is specified by the adverb иң.
- тизрәк “faster”
- иң тиз “fastest”
Degreeis specified using adverbs daha and en.
We distinguish between adjectives, determiners and numerals.
