NumType: numeral type

Values: Card Dist Mult Ord Sets

In Classical Armenian, NumType as a lexical feature, which is tagged on numerals, adjectives and adverbs. Classical Armenian has a decimal numeral system. Complex numerals are built by means of derivation, compounding, and coordination.

Card: cardinal numeral

Cardinal numerals modify nominals, with which they partially agreement in number and case.

Dist: distributive numeral

Used to express that the same quantity is distributed to each member in a set of targets.

Mult: multiplicative numeral

Expresses an entity or quality which occurs a number of times.

Ord: ordinal number

Ordinal numerals are classified as adjectives. Except for առաջին/aṙaǰin “first”, they are derived from cardinals with the suffix -րորդ/-rord and -երորդ/-erord.

Sets: collective numeral

Expresses a number of entities represented as a whole.

կոչեցեալ առ ինքն զերկոտասանեսին աշակերտսն իւր / kočʻecʻeal aṙ inkʻn zerkotasanesin ašakertsn iwr “he had called unto him all of his twelve disciples” (Mt.10:1).
