Degree: adjective degree

This feature takes the following values:

Values: Abs Cmp Sup

The positive is not marked and can be used for all degrees. It is not indicated in the annotation. Analytic marking of grades is possible, notably by means of wēš “more”.

Abs: Absolute superlative / elative

A stylistic peculiarity is the combination of the comparative suffix and the superlative suffix forming an elative or absolute superlative.

Examples:

Cmp: Comparative

Comparative degree, which can also express superlative degree, e.g. frāz-dar “further, more advanced”. If used without comparison, it evokes the notion of ‘to a higher degree than normal’.
