PronType: pronominal type

PronType

This feature typically applies to pronouns, determiners, pronominal numerals (quantifiers) and pronominal adverbs.

Prs: personal or possessive personal pronoun or determiner

See also the Poss feature that distinguishes normal personal pronouns from possessives. Note that Prs also includes reflexive personal/possessive pronouns (e.g. [cs] se / svůj; see the Reflex feature).

Examples

• аз, ти, той, тя, то, ние, вие, те, себе си, мой, твой, негов, неин, негов, наш, ваш, техен, свой / az, ti, toy, tya, to, nie, vie, te, sebe si, moy, tvoy, negov, nein, negov, nash, vash, tehen, svoy “I, you, he, she, it, we, they, oneself, my, your, his, her, its, our, their, mine, yours, hers, ours, theirs, oneself’s”

Rcp: reciprocal pronoun

Examples

• един друг / edin drug “one another”
• един на друг / edin na drug “each other”

Int: interrogative pronoun, determiner, numeral or adverb

Note that possessive interrogative determiners (whose) can be distinguished by the Poss feature.

Examples:

• [bg/en] кой /koy “who”, какво / kakvo “what”, кой / koy “which”, чий / chiy “whose”, колко / kolko “how many, how much”, къде / kade “where”, кога / koga “when”, как / kak “how”, защо / zashto “why”

Rel: relative pronoun, determiner, numeral or adverb

In Bulgarian this class is distinct from the class of interrogatives.

Examples:

• [bg] който / koyto “which”, “that” (relative but not interrogative pronouns); чийто / chiyto “whose” (possessive relative pronoun)

Dem: demonstrative pronoun, determiner, numeral or adverb

BulTreeBank tagset does not differenciate between pronouns for narness/distance, although in Bulgarian there is such distinction.

Examples

• [bg/en] този / този “this”, онзи / onzi “that”, такъв / takav “such”, тук / tuk “here”, там / tam “there”, etc.

Tot: total (collective) pronoun, determiner or adverb

Examples

• [bg/en] всеки / vseki “every, everybody, everyone, each”, всичко / vsichko “everything” “all”, etc.

Neg: negative pronoun, determiner or adverb

Examples:

• [bg/en] никой / nikoy “nobody”, нищо / nishto “nothing”, никакъв / nikakav “no”, ничий nichiy “no one’s” (possessive negative pronoun), etc.

Ind: indefinite pronoun, determiner, numeral or adverb

Examples

• [bg/en] някой / nyakoy “somebody”, нещо / neshto “something”, някакъв / nyakakav “some”, нечий / nechiy someone’s_ (possessive indefinite pronoun), etc.
• [bg/en] който и да е / koyto i da e “whoever, anybody”, каквото и да е / kakvoto i da e “whatever, anything”, etc.
• [bg/en] еди-кой си / edi-koy si “somebody specific for the speaker, but not for the hearer”

Treebank Statistics (UD_Bulgarian)

This feature is universal. It occurs with 7 different values: Dem, Ind, Int, Neg, Prs, Rel, Tot.

13616 tokens (9%) have a non-empty value of PronType. 363 types (1%) occur at least once with a non-empty value of PronType. 53 lemmas (0%) occur at least once with a non-empty value of PronType. The feature is used with 3 part-of-speech tags: bg-pos/PRON (10008; 6% instances), bg-pos/DET (2392; 2% instances), bg-pos/ADV (1216; 1% instances).

PRON

10008 bg-pos/PRON tokens (99% of all PRON tokens) have a non-empty value of PronType.

The most frequent other feature values with which PRON and PronType co-occurred: Poss=EMPTY (8519; 85%), Gender=EMPTY (6798; 68%), Reflex=EMPTY (6151; 61%), Person=EMPTY (5812; 58%).

PRON tokens may have the following values of PronType:

• Dem (529; 5% of non-empty PronType): това, Тази
• Ind (105; 1% of non-empty PronType): нещо, някой, нещата, някои, неколцина, някого, няколко, един, едно, Единият
• Int (96; 1% of non-empty PronType): кой, кого, кои, коя, кое
• Neg (96; 1% of non-empty PronType): никой, нищо, никого, никому, нищото
• Prs (8053; 80% of non-empty PronType): се, си, той, му, го, ни, те, тя, й, им
• Rel (1016; 10% of non-empty PronType): които, който, която, което, когото, каквото, дето, що
• Tot (113; 1% of non-empty PronType): всичко, всички, всеки, всичкото, всекиго
• EMPTY (86): защо, това, си, се, той, което, които, който, му, го

PronType seems to be lexical feature of PRON. 100% lemmas (23) occur only with one value of PronType.

DET

2392 bg-pos/DET tokens (98% of all DET tokens) have a non-empty value of PronType.

The most frequent other feature values with which DET and PronType co-occurred: Person=EMPTY (2014; 84%), Poss=EMPTY (1892; 79%), Number=Sing (1694; 71%), Definite=EMPTY (1614; 67%).

DET tokens may have the following values of PronType:

• Dem (885; 37% of non-empty PronType): тази, този, тези, това, такива, такъв, такава, тая, тия, тоя
• Ind (382; 16% of non-empty PronType): един, една, едно, някои, някой, някакъв, някаква, някакво, нещо, неща
• Int (211; 9% of non-empty PronType): какво, какви, каква, какъв, кой, кои, коя, чия, К’ва
• Neg (64; 3% of non-empty PronType): никакъв, никакви, нищо, никой, никаква, никакво, Никоя, никого, ничия
• Prs (500; 21% of non-empty PronType): нашите, своите, своя, нашата, техните, наши, неговата, своята, своето, негово
• Rel (59; 2% of non-empty PronType): чийто, каквото, чиито, каквато, който, чието, какъвто, чиято, каквито, Която
• Tot (291; 12% of non-empty PronType): всички, всеки, всяка, всяко, всичко, всякакви, всякакъв, Вси, всякаква, всякакво
• EMPTY (41): всички, тази, този, всеки, нашата, нашия, нейната, Всяко, Моят, Тези

PronType seems to be lexical feature of DET. 100% lemmas (23) occur only with one value of PronType.

ADV

1216 bg-pos/ADV tokens (19% of all ADV tokens) have a non-empty value of PronType.

The most frequent other feature values with which ADV and PronType co-occurred: Degree=EMPTY (1215; 100%).

ADV tokens may have the following values of PronType:

• Dem (489; 40% of non-empty PronType): така, тук, тъй, тогава, там, толкова, иначе, оттам, нататък, оттук
• Ind (50; 4% of non-empty PronType): понякога, някъде, някога, някак, донякъде, нанякъде, отнякъде
• Int (244; 20% of non-empty PronType): как, къде, кога, колко, откъде, докъде, где, доколко, накъде, Отде
• Neg (31; 3% of non-empty PronType): никога, никак, отникъде, никъде
• Rel (397; 33% of non-empty PronType): когато, както, където, колкото, откакто, откак, дето, доколкото, откъдето, гдето
• Tot (5; 0% of non-empty PronType): отвсякъде, навсякъде
• EMPTY (5342): още, много, вчера, само, вече, защото, обаче, сега, повече, все

PronType seems to be lexical feature of ADV. 100% lemmas (20) occur only with one value of PronType.
