NOUN: noun
Definition
Nouns are a part of speech typically denoting a person, place, thing, animal or idea.
The NOUN tag is intended for common nouns only. See PROPN for
proper nouns and PRON for pronouns.
Pashto nouns have the lexical feature ps-feat/Gender. Furthermore, the nouns inflect for ps-feat/Number and ps-feat/Case.
A verbal noun can be derived productively from almost every verb
(e.g. لیکل likë́l “to write” → لیکنه likë́na “writing”).
It is tagged NOUN, but with VerbForm=Vnoun feature.
It has always the feminine gender and the full number-case inflectional paradigm.
Adjectives and participles, already turned into nouns and used in that way, are also tagged NOUN.
For the overview of declension of nouns in Pashto, see Pashto nominal system.
