NOUN
: noun
Definition
Nouns are a part of speech typically denoting a person, place, thing, animal or idea.
The NOUN
tag is intended for common nouns only. See PROPN for proper nouns and PRON for pronouns.
Classical Armenian nouns inflect for Case and Number.
Note that verbal nouns and participles share properties of nouns and verbs in Classical Armenian; they are tagged VERB because they tend to have dependencies corresponding to verbal arguments.
Examples
- աղջիկ/ałǰik “girl”
- ծառ/caṙ “tree”
- աւդ/awd “air”
