NOUN: noun
Definition
Nouns are a part of speech typically denoting a person, place, thing, animal or idea.
The NOUN tag is intended for common nouns only. See PROPN for proper nouns and PRON for pronouns.
Middle Armenian nouns have lexical feature Animacy. Furthermore, the nouns inflect for Case, Definite, Number, Number[psor] and Person[psor].
Note that Middle Armenian infinitives share properties of both nouns and verbs and are tagged VERB. They can take nominal morphology, including case marking and a reduced number paradigm (e.g. աւիրել/awirel “to destroy” and աւիրելը/awirelë “destroying”). In contrast, lexicalized verbal nouns are tagged NOUN.
