In Kʼicheʼ verbs can incorporate movement, in the form of prefixes to the verb.
Lat: lative
Denotes movement towards, derived from the verb -ul- “arrive”.
Examples
- [quc] Kojulkitzukuj. “Ellos vienen a buscarnos.”
Abl: ablative
Denotes movement away, derived from the verb -bʼe- “go, leave”.
Examples
- [quc] Le achijabʼ xeʼqʼabʼaroq. “Los hombres fueron a emborracharse.”
