Movement: movement
In Nahuatl verbs can incorporate movement, in the form of prefixes (such as “hual-“ or “nal-“) or suffixes (-qui/-ti/-co/to) on the verb.
Ven: venitive
Denotes movement towards the speaker’s current location.
Examples
- [nhi] siempre xitechtlahpalokih “Siempre ven a saludarnos.”
And: andative
Denotes movement away from speaker’s current location.
Examples
- [nhi] onechyolchicahuato “me fue a acompañar”
