Sometimes there are multiple word forms for the same lemma and set of features.
The Variant
feature helps distinguish alternate forms.
In Belarusian some adjectives, determiners, and, more regularly, participles may have a short form.
For the long forms, the Variant
feature remains unspecified.
Short
: short form of adjectives
The short form is called nominal form of adjective (краткая форма прилагательных), as opposed to the long form, which is pronominal because it originated as a combination of a nominal form and a personal pronoun clitic._

- рад “glad”, повен “full”, дзіўна “beautiful”, упэўнена “sure”, павінны “have to”, актуальны “relevant”, дазволена “allowed”, удакладнены “refined”, складзены.
- Long form equivalents: рады, поўны, дзіўнае, упэўненае, павінныя, актуальныя, дазволенае, удакладненыя, складзеныя.
