Universal Dependencies Workshop 2027 (UDW 2027)

SyntaxFest 2027, Prague, August 30 to September 3, 2027

UDW 2027 will be part of SyntaxFest 2027, held in Prague from August 30 to September 3.

Universal Dependencies (UD) is a framework for consistent annotation of grammar (parts of speech, morphological features, and syntactic dependencies) across different human languages. It was developed with the goal of facilitating multilingual natural language processing and evaluation, supporting cross-lingual learning, and enabling comparative linguistic research.

UD is an open, community-driven initiative that continues to grow, with more than 700 contributors producing over 350 treebanks in more than 190 languages. The framework captures both shared properties and language- specific characteristics among typologically diverse languages (e.g., morphologically rich, pro-drop, and clitic-doubling languages), and has proven highly valuable for research in parsing, model understanding and evaluation, and linguistic typology.
