Connegative: is this in connegative form?
| Values: | Yes |
Boolean feature of verbs (VERB and AUX) marking a word as being in the connegative form.
In Middle Armenian, negated verbs in the indicative and conditional moods have the same form and are built with the negative auxiliary verb (չեմ) in the present or imperfect tense and the main verb, which typically appears in the connegative form (infinitive ending with -լ/-l or -ր/-r with or without the preposition ի/i) traditionally called negative participle. Negative imperative (prohibitive) mood is expressed by a verb in the infinitive (ending with -լ/-l or -ր/-r) or in the present tense (2nd person, subjanctive mood) together with the negative particle մի/mi “not”. There is also a rarely used old form of prohibitive imperative, which is formed with a verb in Classical Armenian present tense and the negative particle մի/mi (e.g. մի՛ տաս/mi tas “don’t give!”). It expresses a meaning similar to that of a negated verb in the subjunctive mood, roughly “You’d better not give.”
Note that there is no No value. If the word is not connegative, the Connegative feature will not appear.
Yes: word is connegative
